Using two hands, deliver 30 chest compressions on the centre of the chest approximately 5 – 6cm at a rate of 100 – 120 compressions per minute.
Give 2 rescue breaths and continue chest compressions . Each rescue breath should take one second to complete and the casualty’s chest should rise as in normal breathing.
Keep alternating rescue breaths with chest compressions until professional help arrives, a bystander alternates with the rescuer, until the casualty is alert and conscious or until the rescuer is totally exhausted.
Administer chest compressions prior to rescue breaths.
