Our CPD Accredited ear Irrigation course is designed to empower the appropriate healthcare worker the skills and the knowledge required to carry out safe and best practice ear irrigation. The course is delivered by a highly experienced and qualified expert in ear irrigation. By the end of the course the attendee will be able to assess and examine the ear, identify any ear abnormalities, identify the correct equipment and instruments used in ear irrigation and undertake safe ear irrigation.
Objectives
By the end of the course, the attendee will be able to:
- To remove excess wax, debris and foreign bodies (that are not hydroscopic ) by using safe ear irrigation method.
- To ensure that an individual assessment is made on every patient that it is appropriate to carried out ear irrigation.
Learning Outcomes
- To carry out safe and best practice in ear irrigation.
- Understanding of the normal and abnormal anatomy of the ear.
- Familiar with assessing and examining of the ear.
- Knowledge and understand of the correct equipment and instruments used in ear irrigation.
- Ability to take and record an aural history.
- To provide advice to the patient regarding simple ear care following removal of the wax.
- After this training to practice this skills the staff required to undertake ear irrigation competencies signed off.
